Daerick Gross Sr.
Dærick Gröss Sr. is an illustrator whose comics have been featured in everywhere from Marvel Comics and DC Comics to books, such as “Guide to Getting It On” by Paul Joannides, Psy.D. His hand-drawn and hand-painted artwork has also found an audience through Studio G, which is the studio that he founded.
Gröss graduated in 1969 from the Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati, Ohio. He then spent 3 years working as a set designer for a local TV news station before finding his way into the comic book industry. His entry into the comics world came with his creation of a character called Murciélaga, the She-Bat.
In 1991, comic book artist Russ Manning awarded him with the Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award. That award helped to launch his career. Starting in 2017 and continuing through the Trump presidency, he also produced a series of satirical political cartoons that criticized Donald Trump.
