David DeAngelo is the stage name and pen name of Eben W. Pagan, who is the author of several dating self-help books that have mostly targeted men. “Double Your Dating” was the first e-book that he wrote and published under his pen name. He also produces a blog and newsletter through his professional website.

He worked under his legal name in San Diego’s real estate market in the late 1990s. However, he has largely gone by DeAngelo since finding success as a dating consultant in 2001. Since then, his ideas and writing have garnered both positive and negative attention from different audiences.

The noted pickup artist did not let all the controversy surrounding his work affect his confidence or stop him from finding love. In 2011, he married a fellow relationship coach named Annie Lalla. The couple, who have kept their family life mostly private, had a daughter by the next year.
