Jason Fried is best known for his collaborations with business partner and co-author David Heinemeier Hansson on their best-selling book, “Rework,” and “Remote: Office Not Required.” The duo also founded a tech company, 37signals, together. Fried has written many articles for magazines and blogs about his strategies and his business.
Fried earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Arizona before teaming up with Hansson to tackle technology’s productivity problems. His product of focus right now is called Basecamp, and 37signals changed its name to that of the product to reflect this. Basecamp provides project management solutions to big and small businesses through specially tailored software.
Fried’s fans enjoy reading his column at Inc. called Get Real and his blog, Signal v. Noise. In his free time, he collects watches and likes going for walks in the woods. He resides in Chicago, where he enjoys life’s simple pleasures with his wife and son.
