Martin Yate

Nicknamed the “father of modern career management,” Martin Yate is the New York Times best-selling author of 17 “Knock ‘em Dead” books. His works focus on career management, job search and resume strategies, interview techniques, social networking, and personal branding. They have been translated into 63 languages.

Yate uses his experience as a recruiter, human resources director, and training director to shape and add to this material. His advice has touched the lives and careers of coach managers, recruiters, and job hunters worldwide. However, this author’s journey began when he immigrated to the United States from England as a young adult.

Once in America, Yate had a rocky start as a failed actor who struggled with alcoholism. He has since exchanged his bad habits for a broad range of hobbies. He now collects prohibition-era cocktail shakers, dances, and plays bass guitar in his free time. Yate and his wife, Angela, have a blended family of seven children.
