Richard Koch

Richard Koch makes his living as an investor and entrepreneur. He credits his success to ideas that he outlined in his best-selling book, “The 80/20 Principle: The Secret to Achieving More with Less.” While he did not invent the concept, much of his work focuses on the Pareto principle, also known as the 80/20 rule.

His insights about how the 80/20 rule applies to business have led to many speaking and consulting gigs. Koch’s primary message always centers on getting the most from the 20 percent of effort that truly counts. He has written upwards of 20 books.

Born on July 28, 1950, this native Londoner studied for his bachelor’s degree at Oxford University. He then came to the United States to complete his MBA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Besides his home in London, Koch, a sun lover, owns property in Gibraltar and another estate in Cape Town, South Africa.
